Santa Maria del Soccorso in Palermo (Madonna della Mazza church) houses two paintings by Adrian Ghenie – one dedicated to the crucifixions of Christians in Syria and Libya and the other to Father Pino Puglisi who was murdered by the Mafia. It’s a tribute to faith and civic responsibility.
