In this episode of Tea with Julia, Julia spoke with Iwona Blazwick, the Director of Whitechapel Gallery, London.

Director of the Whitechapel Gallery, London since 2001, Iwona Blazwick was formerly Head of Exhibitions and Displays at Tate Modern; and Director of Exhibitions at London’s ICA. Blazwick has also been an independent curator for two European Capitals of Culture and exhibitions and public art projects in Europe, America and Japan. As well as collaborating on shows, commissions and books with artists from around the world she curates thematic exhibitions that seek to define the zeitgeist or to expand the art historical canon. Founding Commissioning Editor for contemporary art at Phaidon Press, she is currently Series Editor of Whitechapel Gallery/ MIT Press Documents of Contemporary Art and has published extensively on artists and the institutions of art. Blazwick is an advisor for the Fourth Plinth, the Istanbul Biennale, The Jarman Award and Sculpture in the City.
