In this episode of Tea with Julia, Julia had tea with Nicky Wilson, the Founder and Director of Jupiter Artland Foundation.
Born in Edinburgh 1967, Nicky Wilson attended Camberwell College of Art receiving BA Hons in Sculpture. Whilst at Camberwell she spent a year at Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and attended a programme to develop her practice in New York. Returning to the UK, Nicky completed her MA in Sculpture at Chelsea School of Art and went on to be awarded a British School at Rome Scholarship. After a year of training in advertising, marketing and PR, Nicky worked at LSDC Ayer and then at the renowned WCRS Creative Agency, where she led the campaign to launch Orange Telecommunications. Throughout she continued her sculptural practice, showing at Cornerhouse, Manchester; Ikon Gallery, Birmingham, Royal Festival Hall, London and in the group show ‘England’s Glory’ at Whitley Court alongside Helen Chadwick. In 2008 she became Founder and Director of Jupiter Artland Foundation.
