Oliver Beer; Oma at Thaddaeus Ropac London Ely House (2020)

Oliver Beer Oma

12 September—21 October 2020
Ely House, London

A new installation centred around a pianola (self-playing piano), Oma filled the gallery with a deeply personal piece of music composed in old age by Oliver Beer’s grandmother, alongside his recent Two Dimensional Sculptures. Steeped in musical inheritance and exchange, the exhibition considered the connective potential of music across generations, as well as its discriminatory history as a field inaccessible to many parts of society.
