Dalla parte del naufragio traces the human and artistic vicissitude of Emilio Vedova through the pages of his diaries – read by Toni Servillo – rare archive material, and precious contributions from artists, curators, collaborators and friends including: Fabrizio Gazzarri (Fondazione Emilio e Annabianca Vedova), Gabriella Belli (Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia), Alfredo Bianchini (Fondazione Emilio e Annabianca Vedova), Carla Schulz-Hoffmann (Bavarian State Collections), Luca Massimo Barbero (Fondazione Cini), Karole Vail (Guggenheim Foundation), Georg Baselitz (artist and curator), Germano Celant (Fondazione Emilio e Annabianca Vedova).
The story is punctuated by the fundamental passages of political, social and art history that characterised the twentieth century. Against the background of an almost ethereal Venice, the deep personality and the powerful trait of one of the most significant artists of the 1900s returns.
