Monumental Minimal Film Screening

27 April 2019
Thaddaeus Ropac Paris Pantin

To celebrate the final day of the exhibition Monumental Minimal, and the continuing run of Donald Judd curated by Flavin Judd in our Marais gallery, we are pleased to invite you to a screening of the celebrated documentary 'The Artist's Studio: Donald Judd', this Saturday, April 27 at 4pm in our gallery in Pantin. Alongside major works by Carl Andre, Dan Flavin, Sol LeWitt, Robert Mangold and Robert Morris, the exhibition Monumental Minimal presents several monumental works by the American artist.

The Artist’s Studio: Donald Judd (2010, 30 minutes) was produced and directed by independent filmmaker Michael Blackwood. The critically acclaimed documentary begins in the summer of 1972, when the art historian Barbara Rose interviewed Judd at 101 Spring Street, his home and studio in New York’s SoHo neighbourhood. The film also includes interviews and footage of the artist and his family from September 1975 in Marfa, a remote, small town in western Texas where Judd set up a home and studio and, later, other spaces to permanently install artworks.
