Dawn Zhu Joins the Gallery as Director, Asia
Thaddaeus Ropac gallery is delighted to welcome Dawn Zhu as Director for Asia. Working between the London gallery, China and Hong Kong, as well as travelling extensively across the continent, Dawn brings to her role significant experience working with both local and international collectors and institutions. Her appointment reflects the deepening engagement our growing Asia team has with artists, collectors and institutions in the key arts hubs across Asia.
Dawn's new role encompasses fostering these meaningful relationships with collectors and enabling the gallery's artists and exhibitions to reach new audiences. She will also support institutions in Asia in their collaborations with the gallery's artists, particularly in the lead-up to major exhibitions which are planned for this coming year and beyond. She will be in China this month and will lead our participation in the West Bund art fair in Shanghai this November.
Our Asia team now spans the London, Paris and Seoul galleries, with team members based in each of these locations who work locally with collectors and institutions in Asia, as well as in Europe when they travel. Dawn joins this growing team prior to the opening of our new Seoul gallery on 6 October 2021, which is led by Executive Director Kyu Jin Hwang.

Dawn joins the gallery from Gagosian where she had been a member of their sales team since 2017, working between London and Hong Kong. Prior to that, she spent four years working in Phillips auction house's Client Advisory department, having started her career as a private banker advising key clients in Asia at Barclays.

目前画廊的亚洲团队成员分布于画廊伦敦、巴黎和首尔，他们在当地及在欧洲出差时均广泛与亚洲的收藏家和机构合作。画廊在首尔的新空间亦将于10月6日揭幕，由执行总监黄奎珍领导。朱氏的加盟无疑让亚洲队伍更加壮大。

在加入画廊前，朱氏曾任职于高古轩画廊，于2017年起担任其销售团队的一员，在伦敦和香港之间工作。在此之前，她曾于富艺斯拍卖行咨询部门任职四年。而其职业生涯则起始于巴克莱银行，作为私人银行家为亚洲的主要客户提供咨询服务。
