Sean Scully interview with France 24 ‘We are the children of nature and I emphasize this in my work, in the physicality of it’

On the occasion of his exhibition Between Heaven and Earth at the Paris gallery, Sean Scully was interviewed by Olivia Salazar-Winspear for the cultural daily show Encore! at France 24 (English service). 

Sean Scully's latest exhibition is entitled Between Heaven and Earth – a space the artist conceives of as a journey between those two elements. As his paintings go on show at the Thaddaeus Ropac gallery in Paris, he joins us to discuss how the sombre mood of the past year has left its mark on his artwork. Scully recalls his journey to Morocco at the beginning of his career and his personal trajectory, from the Dublin of the 1940s to the New York contemporary art scene of the 1990s.
