The work of art that changed everything for me was 2Pac’s “Dear Mama”. Or “Keep Ya Head Up”. He was the man when I was a kid. He wore everything with such confidence. And it just looked good on him. There was a moment where he was making music about everything that he felt. It was amazing. And that’s always been my bar – art is just a way for me to explore what I really feel.
