Erwin Wurm ART☆MILKY WAY: The Taguchi Art Collection

The Taguchi Art Collection is a private collection founded by Hiroshi Taguchi, the founder of the Misumi Group, a specialized trading company for machine parts. His daughter, Miwa, continued its development, and the collection is characterized by its focus on international contemporary art.

They strategically collect museum pieces from both established contemporary masters and emerging artists, including paintings, photographs, videos, and multimedia installations by artists from Japan, Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Africa. The collection does not have its own exhibition space; instead, it actively promotes public exhibitions, providing opportunities for local people to easily access and learn about the global art scene, particularly in regional museums where exposure to contemporary art is limited.

This exhibition aims to cultivate the ability of the individual to continuously create new values, in today's rapidly changing and uncertain society. It creates a space where viewers can freely experience the charm and power of art. Approximately 50 works are displayed across the museum's three floors, using four keywords as guides to aid in the viewing experience.
