Florentina Holzinger Étude for Bregenz
In the summer of 2026, the Bregenz Lakeside Promenade will serve as the stage for one of this year’s most extraordinary art events. The performance artist Florentina Holzinger is creating a new, site-specific project specifically for Kunsthaus Bregenz: an Étude for Bregenz and Lake Constance. Étude is a satellite program of this year’s 61st Venice Biennale (May 9–November 22, 2026) presented as part of Holzinger’s interdisciplinary commission SEAWORLD VENICE for the Austrian Pavilion.
SEAWORLD VENICE will have a one-night echo in Bregenz, on July 11, 2026: here, four drummers, ten performers, a crane, and a bell create new myths from the stillness of the water. Amphibious beings of feminist spirituality dive into Lake Constance and reemerge from it–in a unique choreography that explores the mysteries beneath the water’s surface.
Étude will take place one time only, on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 6 pm at Bregenz’s Lakeside Promenade. In case of inclement weather, the start time may be postponed to 8 pm. Admission is free. The event area is open to the public; tickets cannot be reserved.
