Mandy El-Sayegh: Anteroom Takeover Solo exhibition at The Arts Club
The Arts Club presents a major solo presentation by Mandy El-Sayegh, transforming the Ante Room into an immersive, site-specific environment. Conceived as a ‘takeover’, the installation draws visitors into El-Sayegh’s distinctive multidisciplinary practice, where painting, collage, installation and performance intersect. Working with found materials, including newspapers, advertisements, medical diagrams and fragments of text, she constructs dense, layered compositions that reflect the systems through which meaning and identity are produced.
El-Sayegh’s work examines how structures of language, power and circulation shape contemporary subjectivity, suggesting that identity is assembled not only through images, but through the broader frameworks of media and communication that condition how we see and understand the world.
Occupying the Ante Room in its entirety, this presentation marks a significant moment within the artist’s practice, offering an immersive encounter with work that is both materially complex and conceptually rigorous.
Mandy El-Sayegh's show is made possible with the generous support of Mandy El-Sayegh and Thaddaeus Ropac gallery.
The private view will take place on Wednesday 29 April from 6—8pm. Non-members may visit the exhibition on Wednesdays from 1—7pm and Saturdays from 10am—4pm.
