The exhibition at the Museum am Mönchsberg contrasts Baselitz's smaller-format drawings with his later large-format paintings, which the artist paints with the aid of a walker, among other things, leaving visible marks on the canvas. The impressive portraits in particular reflect themes such as age and transience – as well as the artist's own biography.
