Heemin Chung: Hiking Two-person exhibition with Siggi Hofer
Art Sonje Center and Space for Contemporary Art presents Heemin Chung and Siggi Hofer: Hiking, a two-person exhibition held at (TOGETHER)(TOGETHER) Seoul. Curated by Somi Sim and Coupé International (Michael Strasser), and supported by the Austrian Ministry for Housing, Arts, Culture, Media and Sport, the exhibition traces the material, visual and textual layers found in the urban landscapes of Seoul and Vienna.
This artistic exchange moves fluidly between the digital and physical realms. Heemin Chung investigates how images digitally materialise and circulate, while Siggi Hofer distills thoughts and observations gathered from his city walks into text-based works on tracing paper. Together, their works reveal how perception, movement and language intersect within the contemporary urban space.
This project is part of Coupé International’s ongoing initiative to connect Vienna with other cities around the world through artistic collaborations. Each edition invites two artists to engage in dialogue, creating a platform that address social realities alongside visual-cultural and linguistic phenomena. The exhibition will travel to Vienna in 2026, accompanied by VOL. FIVE, a publication developed in parallel with the project.
