Miquel Barceló: Reflections. Picasso x Barceló Exhibition at the Museum of Almería

16 December 2025—15 March 2026

Following Reflections. Picasso x Koons at the Alhambra in Granada, the Museo Picasso Málaga, in collaboration with the Fundación Almine y Bernard Ruiz-Picasso (FABA), present a new exhibition focusing on Miquel Barceló: Reflections. Picasso x Barceló at the Museum of Almería from December 16, 2025 to March 15, 2026, and at the Museum of Cádiz from March 26 to June 28, 2026. The exhibition brings together more than one hundred ceramic works by Pablo Picasso and Miquel Barceló, shown alongside archaeological objects from the museums of Almería and Cádiz. The exhibition highlights clay’s deep Mediterranean legacy as a material of memory and experimentation, linking both artists to centuries of creators who have transformed earth, water, and fire into enduring art.

The Museo de Almería—founded in 1933 and reopened in 2006 with a contemporary design—hosts the first presentation of the exhibition, drawing on its renowned ceramic holdings that trace five millennia of cultural history. As part of the broader Picasso Reflections initiative, which seeks to generate new interpretations of Picasso’s work through encounters with heritage collections, the exhibition will be on view in Almería from December 16, 2025, to March 15, 2026, before traveling to the Museum of Cádiz from March 26 to June 28, 2026.
