Donald Judd: Furniture Solo Exhibition at STORAGE by Hyundai Card
STORAGE by Hyundai Card presents Donald Judd: Furniture, the first exhibition in Korea devoted to the furniture of Donald Judd, one of the most influential artists of the twentieth century. Bringing together a selection of Judd’s furniture alongside prints and drawings, the exhibition highlights his radical practice that traversed art, architecture, and design through an exploration of form, repetition, color, and materiality. Hyundai Card has long engaged with Judd’s minimalist philosophy, supporting the artist’s major retrospective Judd at The Museum of Modern Art, New York, in 2020. This exhibition is realized in close collaboration with the Judd Foundation as a continuation of that commitment.
The exhibition features furnitures created by Judd from the 1970s to the 1990s in wood, metal, and plywood, arranged across four gallery spaces that evoke the environments in which he lived and worked. Through this spatial approach, visitors are invited to experience the intimate relationship between his life and artistic practice. In addition, prints and drawings from the Judd Foundation’s collection in Marfa, Texas, are exhibited, offering further insight into the ideas that shaped his work.
