Andreas Slominski The O Of The Door

In his latest series of works, Andreas Slominski deals with portable toilets − "the human being in the voting booth" (Slominski) − which are part of the landscape of our cities. In the exhibition the artist will present some 200 of these mobile plastic toilets. Some of these portable toilets can be seen in a strange inversion as decorative pictorial objects on the wall – objects of a Mephistophelian view of the world. The fixtures of such portable toilets, including the urinal, the toilet seat, the toilet paper holder, and the ventilation pipe, are arranged on the walls or in the room like colorful panel paintings.
