Georg Baselitz Featured in the group exhibition ‘Figuration Circuits’

Figuration Circuits: Dong-A Art Festival and Its Era at Ilmin Museum of Art, Seoul examines the “era of figuration” as a pivotal moment in the Korean modern art scene. Revisiting the Dong-A Art Festival (1978)—the event that first ignited the discourse on “figuration” in Korean art—Ilmin Museum of Art seeks to explore how emerging currents of figurative painting are intertwined with our contemporary reality.

Georg Baselitz’s Das ist auch ein Weg (2021) is featured as a key example of 'figuration' that connects past and present. Bringing together award-winning artists of the festival alongside international figures like Baselitz, the exhibition traces how figuration has re-emerged in today’s artistic practices.
