Megan Rooney: Yellow Yellow Blue The best exhibitions in London for for June 2025
By Fiona McKenzie-Johnston
South African-born Megan Rooney’s paintings are an instance of form led by colour, and this exhibition of new work at Thaddaeus Ropac, W1, is a continuation of her ongoing investigation into abstraction as a means of storytelling. Using a range of materials including oil pastels, the canvases are alternately built up and sanded back, creating an extraordinary sense of depth, while the textures, if you look up close, seem to run from velvet to silk.
