Erwin Wurm Solo show at the Marmorschlössl

17 May—26 October 2025
Marmorschlössl, Bad Ischl, Austria

The exhibition at the Marmorschlössl focuses on the sculptural work of Erwin Wurm. The works, some of which provide very personal insights into the artist's life, deal with feelings of powerlessness and confinement. Wurm's exploration of the theme of philosophy forms an important aspect of the
show. The exhibition also includes many objects that appear humorous at first glance and take a critical look at luxury, excess and excessiveness. At times, the artist also draws on culinary representatives of Austrian folk culture. Semmerl, Extrawurst and Essiggurkerl become the protagonists of his work and symbolise both the artist himself and his environment. The materials and media with which the artist realises them are as extensive as the different themes. In addition to objects made of fabric, metal, acrylic, marble and glass, drawings, videos and photographs will also be on display.
