Tony Cragg (born in 1949) is one of the most important contemporary sculptors. The Wuppertal-based British artist, who was until 2013 the rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Düsseldorf, will present nearly 20 recent sculptures in the impressive Grand Hall.
The artist has been inspired by natural forms since childhood. A selection of the artist’s mineral and fossil collection collection will be a central part of the exhibition at the Hessisches Landesmuseum Darmstadt, nurturing the discussion about the relationship between nature and art.
"Unnatural Selection" will be one of the most important monographic exhibitions dedicated to the artist in Germany to date.
