Antony Gormley / Pavla Melková Exhibition putting both artists in dialogue at Galerie Rudolfinum, Prague
Galerie Rudolfinum brings together British artist Antony Gormley and Czech architect and poet Pavla Melková in a powerful creative exchange. Both Gormley and Melková look to enhance our sensory awareness of the places we inhabit, deepening our perception of the ways in which we occupy space and experience the objects around us. Gormley’s evocative spatial installations and sculptures are framed by his drawings and the immersive images of environmental perception in the words of Melková’s poetic texts. Together the works map and activate internal, perceptual, and architectural spaces and in so doing challenge how we perceive our surroundings and our place within them.
The exhibition Antony Gormley / Pavla Melková continues a dialogue between the artists that began in Prague and previously led to the joint publication The Gravitational Field of the Inexpressible (KANT, 2022). Gormley and Melková now reconvene in the city of their meeting.
