Richard Deacon, New Works Exhibition review of "one of Britain's most brilliant sculptors"

24 January 2024
Paris Marais

Translation:

Born in Wales in 1949, Richard Deacon is, along with Tony Cragg (also born in 1949) and Anthony Caro (1924-2013), one of Britain's most brilliant sculptors. His work has been referred to as abstract and his sculptures as baroque, standing out with their truly spectacular spatial unfolding, as well as the swirling and expanding nature of the material. He is back on the upper floor of the Galerie Ropac with a modest exhibition of glazed and coloured ceramics, accompanied by small steel sculptures.
