'Lisa Brice's paintings are a fiery female gaze' Matthieu Jacquet's review of the main exhibitions in Paris

By Matthieu Jacquet

Translation:

Against the male gaze that has dominated the female nude for centuries, Lisa Brice's paintings are a fiery female gaze, showing women in full possession of their bodies in shades of cobalt blue and fiery red. At Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac, the London-based South African painter presents new examples of her dreamlike world, tinged with eroticism but never scabrous.
