Yvonne Rainer is an American dancer, choreographer, and filmmaker, whose work in these disciplines is regarded as challenging and experimental. She is a founding member of Judson Dance Theater. While her work is sometimes classified as minimalist art, her art is more eclectic. Her work has been foundational across multiple disciplines and movements: dance, cinema, feminism, minimalism, conceptual art, and postmodernism. Rainer currently lives and works in New York.

Wendy Perron is a dancer/choreographer turned writer/educator/historian. She danced with the Trisha Brown Company in the 1970s and choreographed more than forty works for her own group. The author of The Grand Union: Accidental Anarchists of Downtown Dance, 1970-1976, she has co-curated exhibits on the intersection of art and dance. She currently teaches dance history at Juilliard.
