Liza Lou's Trailer is one of 200 major acquisitions to enter the Brooklyn Museum's collection this year. The work will be installed on the ground floor in 2023 allowing all visitors who enter the museum to experience it. Trailer, one of Lou's well-known monumental installations, is a film noir tableau made of glass beads contained inside a thirty-five foot long 1949 Spartan trailer home. It provides a striking monochromatic counterpart to her vibrantly coloured Kitchen (1991-1996), which is part of the Whitney Museum collection and was featured in their recent collection exhibition, Making Knowing: Craft in Art 1950-2019.
