Overview
Between Heaven and Earth brings together historic installations by Ilya and Emilia Kabakov in a tribute to Ilya Kabakov almost a year after his death, remembering the inventor of the 'total installation'. The Kabakovs' works will be presented in dialogue with the surrounding architecture and historical art collections of the Palazzo Querini Stampalia, where they are re-constructed as site-specific, immersive environments. In a carefully choreographed mise-en-scène of objects, texts, lights and sounds, the works demonstrate the power of artists to unveil fractures and to invent connections, inviting the visitor to escape reality through art and imagination.
