An exhibition celebrating the bicentenary of Gustave Courbet’s birth in 1819. Through a series of works created specifically for the exhibition, Yan Pei-Ming offers a variation on the themes characteristic to the Realist master: portraits, nudes, landscapes and animals. Generations apart, through their respective stories and styles, the works of Yan Pei-Ming and Courbet form a dialogue of bold gesture, large formats and emotional density.
