9 January 2025

Thaddaeus Ropac is expanding: with a location in Milan, housed in the historic Palazzo Belgioioso, the Austrian gallery aims to strengthen its presence in Italy

The international gallery Thaddaeus Ropac is opening a location in Milan in autumn 2025. The space in the centrally located Palazzo Belgioioso, designed by architect Giuseppe Piermarini, will be the Austrian gallery's seventh location. It is currently based in Salzburg, London, Seoul and Paris. The new premises comprise two spacious rooms with a total area of 280 square metres as well as an outdoor area in Piazza Belgioioso, where sculptures and installations will be shown.

‘Milan is a cultural hub in Europe and plays a central role in the history and development of modern and contemporary art,’ says Thaddaeus Ropac, explaining his decision. ‘Our new location will enable us to further expand the important relationships we have built up over decades with collectors and institutions in Italy and to present our artists in this dynamic environment.’
