By Laura Freeman
The first UK solo show of works by Rosemarie Castoro (1939-2015), a rare female player in New York’s minimal and post-minimal art scene. Castoro’s background was in experimental dance and choreography and movement was essential to her way of painting and sculpting. Fury helped drive her on. When the art dealer Leo Castelli said he liked her work and assumed she was a boy: “I became hostile. It kept me working.”
