Emilio Vedova’s first solo exhibition in the UK reunites his five monumental canvases from the landmark documenta 7 exhibition in 1982, curated by Rudi Fuchs. These paintings are shown alongside a selection of important works from the 1980s, a period considered the pinnacle of the artist’s career. Presented in association with the Fondazione Emilio e Annabianca Vedova, this exhibition marks the fourth decade since his participation in documenta 7 in Kassel and the 40th Venice Biennale, held in the same year.

Alvaro Barrington’s most recent series explores the centrality of music as a constant source of inspiration in his practice. Growing up during the 1990s in Brooklyn, New York, he was heavily influenced by the late American rapper Tupac Shakur (1971–1996), whose often autobiographical lyrics describe a world marked by hardship, but also perseverance and celebration. These ideas resonated with Barrington’s own experiences and are reflected in his works.

Miquel Barceló's first exhibition of ceramics in London reveals his inventive approach to the medium, which has long been central to his practice. Inspired by ancient techniques from Mali and his native Mallorca, Barceló's ceramic sculptures are captured in a moment of dissolution or becoming, a state of 'continuous transformation'. They seem to evolve before our eyes into other forms: sprouting leaves, rippling with marine life or folding in on themselves.

In her first solo exhibition at Thaddaeus Ropac, Mandy El-Sayegh (b. 1985) will be taking over the Paris Marais gallery to create an immersive experience encompassing painting, sound and multimedia installations. Featuring over twenty new works from the artist’s Net-Grid, White Grounds and Piece Paintings series, the exhibition will investigate abstraction, material and systems of knowledge production to reveal paintings as layered and complex cultural bodies.

The works were made during the pandemic, almost like a diary of isolation, reflecting Jungwirth’s intimate connection to herself and the external world.
