Right before going back to his native Switzerland, where Not Vital spent his quarantine, the artist visited his House to Watch the 3 Volcanoes, located on the remote island of Flores in Indonesia.

House to Watch the 3 Volcanoes is located below Mount Kelimutu, an extraordinary mountain with three volcanic lakes that differ in color. The house was part of what Vital terms SCARCH - a conflation of the terms sculpture and architecture - and reflected the artist's deep-rooted interest in the relationship between architecture, sculpture, and landscape.
