Imi Knoebel at Kunstraum am Limes Solo collection exhibition in Germany

The exhibition IMI KNOEBEL, on view until 19 March 2025 at the Kunstraum am Limes, provides an impressive overview of the diverse work of the German artist.

The Kunstraum am Limes has one of the largest and most important collections of works by the artist. The collection includes works from the 1960s to the present day. Among them, radically reduced and geometric works bear witness to the artist's early work, which from the mid-1970s onwards is characterised by an increasingly virtuoso use of colour. The more than 50 works on display provide an impressive overview of the multifaceted oeuvre of the artist, who has been unconventionally and consistently questioning and expanding the definition of what constitutes painting for decades.
