In his improvised NYC studio, American painter Jonathan Lasker gave a sneak peek at the recent studies and paintings he has been working on. 

From the late 1970s, Lasker has developed an abstract language made of different processes of mark-making, repetitive patterns and fluid lines, creating an original path in contemporary painting.

While sharing his mixed feelings about his deserted Soho neighbourhood, which reminds him of the empty urban landscapes depicted by De Chirico, Lasker expressed his longing for social reconnection and the need for solidarity.
