Overview
Bustamante's work is diverse and cannot be assigned to any category or style.
We are pleased to announce the first solo exhibition of the French artist Jean-Marc Bustamante in Osterı-eich
Born in Toulouse in 1952, Bustamante has participated three times in Documenta and has exhibited in many important institutions in Europe and the USA. This year he represents France at the Venice Biennale. Bustamante's work is diverse and cannot be assigned to any category or style. He is one of the first and most distinguished representatives of crossover: photography (black and white and colour), sculpture, installation and (alienated) painting are the most important forms of expression of this great artist.
Our Salzburg exhibition will include both recent works, as they are also on display in Venice, and will have a retrospective character, showing some major works from the last 15 years from the artist's personal collection. In the two rooms on the first floor we will show new works (paintings and sculptures) and a wall painting by the young Spanish artist Miquel Mont.
