荣‧穆克精心雕刻的人物，不论大小，每个均反映了一个私密情感的内心世界，并带有令人不安的力量。这些作品惊人地现实，引发观众设身处地感受人类共同面对的挑战和危险。艺术家私密、低调地思索最普遍的经验和情感，像出生、死亡、脆弱、恐惧和同情，邀请观众反思自己和他人的经验。他的作品通过使用雕塑媒介所有传统元素，引起即时情感反应 ── 姿势、动作、表情、比例和现实主义，创造人类处境的强烈心理肖像。
穆克在电影和电视的世界开展他的事业，1996年于海沃德美术馆（Hayward Gallery）与葆拉·雷戈 (Paula Rego) 的合作，令他迈向美术领域。一年后，他的《长眠的父亲》，一个象征艺术家父亲的三英尺长雕塑作品，成为了伦敦皇家艺术学院（Royal Academy of Arts in London）划时代展览「耸动」（Sensation）的一大亮点。这个标志性的群展确立了穆克的地位，成为该时代最重要艺术家之一。 2000年，他受邀成为伦敦国家美术馆（National Gallery in London）为期两年的驻留艺术家，并创作作品回应美术馆的永久收藏。他其后于2003年在国家美术馆举办个展，展出驻留期间创作的雕塑作品。
