在埃尔-萨耶的作品中，「身体」（corporeality）的概念尤其重要 ── 她称拼贴过程为 “缝合”（suturing），称绘画的表面为 “皮肤”（skin）。在她场域特定的装置艺术中，墙壁和地板上贴满了报纸和丝网印刷的文本，并涂上一层乳胶，暗示与医学的关联或纹身的皮肤。在她的作品中常常出现《金融时报》，因为它是全球金融的权威，以及其视觉上肉粉色调的页面。这些元素透过身体的隐喻，以一个世界普遍认知的方式呈现：”我们都有身体，不受背景、政治取向和时间带来的偶然性影响”。然而，我们在躯体内的个人经历，由外部系统塑造而成，这些系统反过来影响我们如何演绎埃尔-萨耶的作品。
