Overview

Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac is opening a special exhibition for the benefit of a medical research organization - the clinical malignancy and cytokine research institute in Innsbruck and Salzburg.

On Saturday, the 23rd of November the Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac is opening a special exhibition for the benefit of a medical research organization - the clinical malignancy and cytokine research institute in Innsbruck and Salzburg. Cancer is the leading cause of death in our society. About 46 % of premature loss of life years goes back to cancer. No other disease causes such a sum of individual, family and social suffering. Univ. Prof. Richard Greil and his team are researching to adapt new-sophisticated treatments in order to help individual cancer patients according to their needs. But a further improvement in healing and achieving successful rates of the therapy, as well as the sourness for the patient 's return to a normal life can only be insured by further intensification of researches. The exhibition includes graphic works, paintings and sculptures of famous Austrian artists like Siegfried Anzinger, Julius Deutschbauer, Hubert Scheibl and Arnulf Rainer and works by international artists such as Georg Baselitz, Marie-Jo LaFontaine, the artist duo Anne & Patrick Poirier, Lisa Ruyter and Philip Taaffe .
